10 Cloverfield Lane
What if you woke up in a stranger’s basement only to be told by a man that he's saved your life from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable? Do you believe him or do you try to escape?
If you watch this teaser and think, “Drew, there’s no copy in it”, you are not wrong. For this piece, I wrote the idea of cutting a teaser using an upbeat song with minimal dialogue, while showing three individuals doing everyday tasks. As it progresses, the visuals become increasingly mysterious and disturbing and the song starts to become distorted, hammering home the idea, things are not what they seem.
Oh yeah, and this glorious masterpiece won a Gold at the Key Art Awards for best theatrical thriller/horror teaser.
